Question 1

How much does tax resolution cost in Woodhouse PA?

Accepted Answer

Every tax situation is different, which is why we always start with a free consultation. During this meeting, we review your specific circumstances and provide a clear, upfront quote for our services. Our fees depend on the complexity of your case and the amount of work required. Simple payment plan negotiations cost less than complex offers in compromise or multiple years of unfiled returns. We never charge hourly fees or surprise you with additional costs. You'll know exactly what you're paying before we begin any work, and we offer payment plans to make our services affordable even when you're dealing with financial stress.

Question 2

Can you really stop IRS wage garnishment and bank levies?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we can often get levies released and prevent future garnishments, but timing is critical. The sooner you contact us after receiving IRS notices, the more options we have available. If the IRS has already started garnishing your wages or frozen your bank account, we can usually get these actions stopped within days of being retained. We immediately contact the IRS, provide them with financial information, and negotiate either a release or a more reasonable payment arrangement. The key is having someone who knows how to communicate with IRS agents effectively and understands which forms and procedures will get the fastest results. Most people try to handle this themselves and make their situation worse.

Question 3

What if I haven't filed tax returns for several years?

Accepted Answer

Unfiled tax returns are actually one of our most common cases, and the situation is never as hopeless as it feels. The IRS typically requires the last six years of returns to be filed, though sometimes we can negotiate for fewer years. We help you gather the necessary documents, reconstruct missing records when needed, and prepare all the back returns professionally. Often, people are surprised to discover they owe less than they feared, or sometimes even have refunds coming. The biggest mistake is continuing to avoid filing. The IRS will eventually file substitute returns for you, and these are always calculated in their favor, not yours. By filing proper returns, we can often reduce your tax debt significantly and set up a payment plan you can actually manage.

Question 4

Do you handle Pennsylvania state tax problems too?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Pennsylvania has its own Department of Revenue with separate collection procedures, and many of our clients have both federal and state tax problems that need to be resolved simultaneously. State tax problems can be just as serious as federal issues—Pennsylvania can garnish wages, levy bank accounts, and place liens on property. They're often more aggressive than the IRS in their collection efforts. We coordinate resolution strategies for both state and federal tax problems, ensuring that any payment plans or settlements work together effectively. This is particularly important in Wayne County, where residents also deal with local property taxes and recent reassessment issues that may have created additional financial strain.

Question 5

How long does tax resolution typically take in Pennsylvania?

Accepted Answer

The timeline varies significantly based on your specific situation and which resolution option works best for your case. Simple payment plan arrangements can often be completed within 30-60 days. More complex cases, such as offers in compromise or innocent spouse relief, typically take 6-12 months to complete. The IRS has specific processing timeframes they must follow, and we can't speed up their internal procedures. However, we can often get immediate relief from collection actions like levies and garnishments within days of being retained. This gives you breathing room while we work on the long-term resolution. Throughout the process, we keep you updated on progress and let you know what to expect at each stage.

Question 6

What documents do I need for my free consultation?

Accepted Answer

Bring whatever you have, but don't let missing documents delay your consultation. We'd rather see you sooner with incomplete information than have you wait weeks trying to gather everything perfectly. Helpful documents include recent IRS notices, past tax returns if you have them, W-2s, 1099s, and any correspondence you've received from tax authorities. If you're self-employed or own a business, bring profit and loss statements and bank records. Don't worry if your records are disorganized or if you're missing key documents. Part of our service is helping you reconstruct your tax history and gather necessary information from the IRS and other sources. The most important thing is getting started on resolving your tax problems as quickly as possible.
